Your Watsu Session:

A Watsu Session Your 'WATSU' with Dawn takes place in a private indoor pool situated within the midst of the Staffordshire countryside in an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity thereby escaping from the hustle, bustle and stresses of daily life.

You will be invited into the warm water of the pool to a level of standing depth. Dawn will float and support you horizontally maintaining your face above the water and with your eyes closed you begin the relaxation process.

The session will involve a series of movements choreographed personally for you. Gentle stretches timed to your natural breathing pattern, coupled with moments of stillness are achieved, whilst making careful adjustments to the programme in response to your relaxation levels.

Relaxing after a Watsu Session Your WATSU session will end when Dawn returns you to a vertical position supported by the pool wall. Following which you will be allowed time and space to reacquaint yourself with the surroundings, and appreciate the rejuvenation obtained. In this environment, many people find that they can gain a previously unobtainable sense of relaxation and stress relief, which lasts so much longer than the treatment itself.

Deep physical and mental relaxation for pregnancy:

WATSU involves warm water Shiatsu Massage and when personalised for pregnancy promotes increased health and wellbeing for both mother and baby, soothing the body and relaxing the mind.

WATSU is also considered “the ultimate preparation for a waterbirth” by Janet Balaskas, the world renowned natural childbirth pioneer.

The Background of Watsu:

Yin Yang WATSU began in California in 1980, coupling the ancient oriental principles of Zen Shiatsu with the intrinsically relaxing sensation of floatation in warm water.

Harold Dull, the founder of WATSU, has continued to develop the technique and is respected by many people practicing in the medical profession and complimentary therapies. WATSU students undergo extensive stages of training before qualifying for full practitioner status, maintaining the excellence of standards.

Is Watsu Right for You ?

As with many complimentary therapies, a medical questionnaire will be carried out before any treatment takes place, to ensure that WATSU is right for your own individual needs and to help design a session that is personal to you.

Dawn, your practitioner is available to answer any queries you may have and to ensure that you remain entirely comfortable before, during and after each therapy.
